
Prof. Hironori Washizaki, Waseda University and IEEE Computer Society President

Prof. Hironori Washizaki is a Professor and Associate Dean at Waseda University, Tokyo, and a Visiting Professor at the National Institute of Informatics. He is also running for IEEE Computer Society President-Elect 2024. He currently serves as the 1st Vice President of IEEE-CS for 2023. He also serves as an Outside Director at SYSTEM INFORMATION and eXmotion. Since 2017, he has led the enPiT-Pro SmartSE project funded by MEXT, which focuses on IoT, AI, software engineering, and business.
Prof. Hironori Washizaki is the current 1st Vice President of IEEE-CS and has been a Board of Governors (BoG) member since 2021. He has contributed to the evolution of the Software Engineering Body of Knowledge (SWEBOK) and has organized various educational initiatives. He has received several awards, including the Golden Core Member and Distinguished Contributor awards. He also serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing (TETC) and is a Steering Committee member for IEEE CSEE&T and COMPSAC conferences.
Prof. Hironori Washizaki research focuses on systems and software engineering. He earned his Ph.D. from Waseda University in 2003 and has published over 120 papers. He leads academia-industry research projects in software design, traceability, and quality assurance. Since 2015, he has chaired the ISO/IEC/JTC1 SC7/WG20, working on standards for knowledge bodies and professional certifications.

Prof. Ridi Ferdiana, Universitas Gadjah Mada
Topic: The AI Revolution in Software Engineering Education: Reshaping Curriculum and Pedagogy for the Future
Prof. Dr. Ir. Ridi Ferdiana, S.T., M.T., IPM, is Professor of Software Engineering at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He earned his Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees in Electrical Engineering from UGM. His expertise includes Software Engineering, E-Learning, Cloud Computing, Human-Computer Interaction, and Digital Transformation. Since October 2022, he has served as the Director of Information Technology at UGM, overseeing the university’s network and internet infrastructure. With over 17 years of experience in the IT industry, he has contributed as a University Lecturer, Technical Trainer, and Cloud Engineer. He is also a Technology Advisor for BroilerX and a member of the Advisory Board for MariBelajar. Prof. Ridi actively engages in research on software engineering methodologies and their applications in startups and cognitive applications, playing a key role in advancing Indonesia’s digital transformation.
